“Adulting”

I use to think that at some point I would be taught magically to manage money, invest and earn.

They do not teach the necessary classes to learn financial skills early in life. Why not? Why are we so afraid to let our children know what information and skills are required for adulthood?

We spend so much time shielding our kids, that we inevitably end up with college graduates who are not efficient at real life. In the 1950’s and most of the 1960’s, 18 years old was adulthood. We learned what we needed to survive on our own at an earlier age.

This may lead to many feelings of anxiety and inadequacy in our young adults. You’re not alone! I was taught nothing. Was a “latch-key kid.” It’s taken a half century for me to learn what I need to not just survive, but live. A little better everyday. So can you!
